We get asked this every now and again, but it is a fundamental question to address. We are first & foremost a Security Company, our entire business is built on the secure destruction of confidential materials to the highest standards available. We have certification for Quality Management Systems and most importantly work to and are annually audited to the EN15713 European Shredding Standard. If we were to take our client's materials for granted or treat them without the respect they deserve we would not have built a successful, award winning business that has operated to the highest levels since 2013
While it’s certainly possible to shred your own paper, it will expose you to a number of potentially huge problems. If you have a substantial amount of documents, using Go Shred is far quicker, more cost-effective and has the benefit of being totally secure. When looking at carrying out your own shredding consider that any data breaches leading to prosecution and insurance claims might lead to massive fines, jail time and insurance cover not being paid out, since it could be deemed that you did not take all necessary measures to protect the data - which is exactly how it is defined in the GDPR
You don't, thank goodness. So long as the the materials are mostly paper, you don't have to go through and remove any of the above. We destroy your secure documents without pre-sorting - you don't want anybody handling your confidential materials! Our shredders are capable of destroying up to 8 tonnes of paper an hour, and are more than capable of destroying the paper so it is no longer readable. Once it is destroyed it is baled and send to paper mills to be pulped. It is during this process that all the plastic and metal is removed
We get asked this the most. Firstly, "loads" is different to each person. In order to price the job effectively we have to quantify what you have, so we will ask how it is currently stored. In many cases it is in archive boxes (see the picture), sometimes it is in Lever Arch files or maybe Filing Cabinets.
If your paper shredding is in Archive Boxes, we will say to keep them in those.. If it isn't we usually say to bag paper up in bin bags, half full and securely tie them off. For an extra fee, we will post out sacks to you if you wish. Most importantly, we have to protect our operatives, so no more than 12Kgs per bag or box please. Failing that, we can post our sacks to you, for a small fee.
The second most asked question we get. Unfortunately, we can't tell you what time we are coming because we are taking orders for each route up to the day before it is scheduled. Every day, of every week we are in a different area. We schedule in your job to one of our vehicle's routes and each route is unique because of that - it's how we are able to schedule your job in in such a timely manner. We can ask our operative to call ahead when they are setting off to your job though.
This is a nice simple one to answer. When we have collected your materials for destruction and it has been shredded, we issue your invoice and certificate of destruction. If you are an Ad Hoc customer, you will need to call straight away and pay with a card over the telephone. If you are a regular client, we will have agreed terms, typically 28 days or sooner. Although it is preferable for all involved to set up a Direct Debit with you for payment of your bill.
